About Touched by Suicide (TBS):
Touched by Suicide (TBS) is a small support group in Wilmington, NC for those who have lost someone to suicide. The support group offers a unique place for survivors to open up, share their experiences, and support one another throughout their journey.
The group is led by volunteer facilitators, themselves survivors of suicide loss. Everyone who attends is invited to talk and is welcome to share their story, but anyone who chooses can simply be present with fellow survivors and listen to the stories of others. We also have many books related to suicide and grief available for loan.
If you have lost a loved one to suicide, you may find it helpful to connect with others who have also experienced a suicide loss. It can be a relief to talk openly about suicide with people who share a similar experience.
You are always welcome to bring photos or cherished items of your loved ones if you would like to share.

What to Expect:
It can be so powerful to connect with other survivors of suicide loss. And such a relief to be able to talk openly about suicide with people who really understand.
For so many survivors, a crucial part of their healing process is the support and sense of connection they feel through sharing their grief with other survivors. -- AFSP
- It is natural to feel unsure about going to your first support group meeting. It may take a few meetings before you feel comfortable.
- Some people attend a support group almost immediately after their loss, while others wait for years. Do what you feel is best for you.
- Groups provide a “safe place” where those who have been touched by suicide loss can share their thoughts and feelings, and offer one another support.
